Recently, I saw everyone talking about IBC, message passing, various bridges… To put it simply, when I do a cross-chain transaction now, my mind automatically runs through "Who do I really trust": not to mention the source chain / target chain themselves, but also the verification methods in the middle (light clients or multi-signatures), plus whether the relayer / relay honestly forwards the data, and finally whether the contract / module on the landing side has any vulnerabilities. Modularization and the DA layer narrative make developers pretty excited, but users (including myself) are a bit confused. Actually, being confused is the right mindset—trust has really become more complex.

The extra step I’m willing to take for security isn’t an exaggeration: before cross-chain, I check the bridge’s “verification method” and whether there have been recent abnormal pauses. For larger amounts, I first do a small test transfer; if it’s slow, so be it. Anyway, I don’t chase those few minutes when playing with pools. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
