Wall Street Journal: Meta Prepares to Scrap $2.5 Billion Manus Acquisition, Admits to Allowing Founders to Leave

On April 28, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing informed sources, that Meta is preparing to withdraw its acquisition of AI agent startup Manus. As part of the termination of the acquisition, Meta will have to allow the founders of Manus to leave. Previously, Meta had employed a model of hiring only the team without purchasing the company in acquisitions, and letting the founders go effectively dismantles the core asset of this acquisition.
