U.S. officials deny that any American ships were hit by Iranian missiles.

I sincerely hope this is false; if Iran really fires on the United States, it’s highly unlikely that the U.S. will just let it go, and retaliation is almost certain. Once the situation escalates, the so-called ceasefire agreement will basically become a formality, and it’s very likely that a new round of tug-of-war and confrontation will follow.
