CFTC Draws 1,500 Comments on Prediction Market Rule Proposal
The CFTC received more than 1,500 comments after the public feedback window closed on Thursday for its proposed prediction market rule. Kalshi, Polymarket and Andreessen Horowitz backed the regulator’s authority over event contracts, while gambling regulators in several states urged the agency to stop supporting sports contracts. Better Markets and 12 other consumer groups also asked the CFTC to ban contracts tied to elections or geopolitical events.
