been seeing a lot of people say crypto's dead or it's too late to jump in, but honestly the market's way more interesting than that. there's still plenty of room for growth, especially in the smaller cap stuff. the math is pretty straightforward - something like bitcoin at hundreds of billions in market cap isn't gonna do 100x, but coins sitting under a dollar? that's a different story entirely.
so i spent some time digging through different projects and honestly some of them have real mechanics behind the hype. like tron's been around forever and does low-fee transactions pretty well - currently sitting around $0.34, so it'd only need to roughly triple to hit a dollar. dogecoin's the memecoin that actually stuck around. hit like $0.70 back in 2021, now it's at $0.11 according to my charts. the community's still there which counts for something.
then there's the newer stuff. bonk distributed most of its supply through airdrops which felt fairer than usual. hedera's got this hashgraph tech that's supposed to be faster and more secure than standard blockchain. hbar's trading around $0.09 right now. honestly the projects claiming crazy staking rewards or zero fees everywhere - i take those with a grain of salt, but the underlying tech is worth looking at.
the ones that stood out to me were the ones actually building something instead of just chasing hype. tron's got the speed and adoption, hedera's got the technical differentiation, and the meme coins at least have real community engagement. whether any of them actually become the next crypto to hit $1 is anyone's guess, but the potential's definitely there if you're willing to dig past the marketing noise. prices move fast though so these numbers are probably already outdated by the time you read this.
