On the 4th, the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. announced that on May 3rd, the national railway system transported 18.6M passengers safely and smoothly.
On May 4th, the national railway is expected to transport 20.3 million passengers, with 1,641 additional passenger trains scheduled.
As the holiday approaches its end, the railway is experiencing a peak in return travel, with passenger flow remaining high.
According to the ticket pre-sale data from Railway 12306, the main popular departure cities on the 4th include Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Xi’an, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, and Chongqing;
The main popular arrival cities include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Xi’an, and Nanjing;
Popular routes with concentrated passenger flow include Nanning to Guangzhou, Chengdu to Xi’an, Beijing to Shanghai, Wuhan to Shanghai, and Changsha to Wuhan.
Railway departments across the country are actively responding to the peak in return travel, refining station and train service measures, and making every effort to ensure passengers return safely and orderly.
The Beijing Railway Bureau Group’s Beijing Station has opened priority and caring green channels, and Beijing South Station has activated a taxi dispatch station at the south exit to provide convenience for travelers.
The Wuhan Railway Bureau Group’s Hankou Station has strengthened air-rail transfer services, allowing passengers to reach the airport directly by high-speed train.
The Xi’an Railway Bureau Group has launched the “Qinling” Silver Hair Tourism Special Train, allowing senior travelers to enjoy scenic tours by train in Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Hebei, and other regions.
The Urumqi Railway Bureau Group has launched the “New Oriental Express” tourism special train, making it easier for travelers to tour Xinjiang by train.
