Ever since I learned this, I not only stopped liking pigeons—I even started to fear them.
I happened to hear that a child touched the pigeons in the square, and then got a brain disease. After looking up tons of information and cases, my worldview was completely shattered by this adorable living devil.
Pigeons are even called mobile virus reservoirs; even their droppings are said to be a source of viruses. And the species/types they carry are comparable to rats.
Their overall physical condition in their living environment is generally not good. There are also people who end up developing lung diseases. The most outrageous case is this: a child, out of kindness, fed a pigeon—then their hand got infected, and in the end, they lost their hand...
Once, by accident, I pulled off a feather, and it turned out that this pigeon was sick—there were a bunch of tiny bugs on the feather. Thinking about those roasted pigeons by the roadside now really makes me gasp!
Finally, a piece of advice: try not to be curious—don’t lift up and look under a pigeon’s wings.
