The FOMC kept rates unchanged, but the real story isn’t the decision — it’s the split: 8 to 4 votes. That’s the highest dissent count in the last 34 years. This picture shows the “single voice” era of monetary policy is over, and uncertainty has officially begun.
How Did the Market React?
1. BTC Reaction: After the decision, it’s stuck in the $78,000-$80,000 range. $80K is acting as resistance, $72K as support. Volume is weak, and directionless consolidation continues. 2. Volatility Outlook: Spot volumes are 25-30% lower vs late 2025. This kind of “calm” usually comes before a sharp move. Friday’s Nonfarm Payrolls data will likely define the direction. 3. Altcoins: Capital is selective in this uncertain environment. The RWA and AI narratives remain strong. “Sell in May” might not work this year — accumulation is being talked about in undervalued projects.
What Am I Doing?
• I’m not chasing longs without a 4H candle close above $80K with strong volume. • No trades below $72K without a stop-loss. Watch out for liquidity hunts. • Reduce leverage on macro data days. Surprise wicks can hurt.
Bottom line: The Fed held rates, but the market couldn’t hold direction. Indecision = opportunity, but only for the patient.
