I've noticed that lately, more and more projects are holding live community engagement sessions. And what's interesting is that they work much better than regular press releases.
Sharing my understanding. When people talk about an AMA session, they primarily mean an open dialogue format where the project team answers participants' questions in real time. The abbreviation AMA stands for "Ask Me Anything," and the concept has long become a standard in the crypto community.
I remember when Reddit launched its collectible avatars on Polygon in 2022. It was a great example of how interactive sessions can lead to real growth — millions of new wallets, significant revenue. It showed that people are willing to participate when they see honest communication.
Why are AMA sessions so popular? Because there's no room for pre-prepared answers. Unlike traditional interviews, participants ask questions on the spot, and the team must respond honestly and without censorship. This builds trust — it's hard to hide something when you have to answer live.
The crypto community is diverse, and questions can be completely different — from technical token details to strategic plans of the team. That's why projects often involve developers, designers, analysts so that each question receives a quality answer.
The formats can vary. Most often, it's Telegram, Discord, Twitter Spaces, or YouTube Live. Some prefer text chat, others — video discussions. The main thing is that answers are given in real time, and everyone can see the process.
For those who couldn't attend, most projects later publish summaries — they post the main questions and answers as a post or article. This way, the information remains accessible to everyone.
In general, an AMA session is not just a formality but a real way to strengthen the connection between the team and the community. If a project is ready to communicate honestly — that's already a good sign.
