Iran deputy speaker says Hormuz will not return to pre-war state

Ali Nikzad, Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, said on May 2 that the Strait of Hormuz will not return to its pre-war condition and that Iran will not retreat from its position on the waterway. Nikzad said parliament is scheduled to approve a bill on management of the strait that would permanently bar Israeli vessels, require war reparations from ships of hostile nations, and require prior Iranian permission for all other vessels to pass.
