Odaily Planet Daily reports that a survey conducted by CoinDesk among 1,000 registered American voters shows that only 1% of respondents list cryptocurrency as the most important issue in the 2026 U.S. midterm elections, ranking nearly last among all concerns. In comparison, the cost of living (36%), employment and the economy (13%), and social security and healthcare (11%) are the issues voters care about most. Although cryptocurrency is not a core election issue, about 40% of respondents still indicated a preference to vote for candidates who share their views on crypto, demonstrating that digital asset topics are still gaining influence in American politics.

The survey also shows that overall, American voters hold a somewhat negative view of cryptocurrencies, with only 27% of respondents having invested, traded, or used crypto, and another 27% indicating they might participate in the future. About 47% believe the Republican Party is more friendly toward cryptocurrencies, while only 14% think the Democratic Party is more supportive of the crypto industry; however, in terms of “which party they trust more to manage crypto affairs,” the Democratic Party slightly leads with 27% over the Republican Party’s 25%, and 40% say they do not trust either party.
