Been thinking about this a lot lately - how realistic is it for students to actually earn 1 lakh per month without sacrificing their studies? Turns out there are some legit ways if you're willing to put in the work upfront.
The thing about passive income as a student is that it's not really passive at first. You need to build something that works for you while you're busy with classes and exams. I've noticed a lot of students are getting into freelancing on platforms like Fiverr or Upwork - writing, design, coding, whatever your skill is. Takes time to build a client base but once you do, the money can add up quick.
Then there's content creation. YouTube, blogs, social media - if you can build an audience around something you actually care about, monetization follows. Not overnight though. Most successful creators talk about spending 6-12 months before seeing real returns.
Digital products are another angle people don't talk about enough. Creating and selling courses, templates, guides - once it's done, it keeps selling. E-books, stock photography, design templates on platforms like Gumroad or Etsy. The barrier to entry is pretty low.
Investing in crypto or stocks is something a lot of students are exploring too. You don't need a huge capital to start - even small amounts can compound over time if you're patient and doing your research. Though obviously this comes with risk, so don't throw money you can't afford to lose.
Affiliate marketing is probably the most underrated. Recommending products you genuinely use and earning commission. Could be anything - apps, courses, services. Works best when you have some kind of audience or platform though.
Renting out stuff you own or have access to is more straightforward - parking space, room, equipment, notes. Not glamorous but it works.
The reality? Most students who hit 1 lakh per month are doing a combination of these, not relying on just one. And it takes consistency and time to build. But if you're strategic about it and willing to learn, it's definitely doable. The key is starting early and compounding your efforts over time.
