Golden Financial reports that on May 4th, according to The Wall Street Journal, sources familiar with the matter revealed that Anthropic is finalizing an agreement to establish a new joint venture with Blackstone Group, Goldman Sachs, and several other Wall Street firms, aimed at selling AI tools to private equity-backed companies. The sources said an announcement could be made as early as Monday. The sources added that Anthropic, Blackstone Group, and Friedman are the core participants in the deal, each expected to invest about $300 million. Goldman Sachs will also serve as a founding investor, contributing approximately $150 million. Pan-Atlantic Investment Group and other firms are also involved in the deal. The sources estimate the total committed investment to be around $1.5 billion. The investors’ goal is to create a company that acts as Anthropic’s consulting arm, helping enterprises—including private equity portfolio companies—learn how to integrate AI into their operations.
