Abstract generation in progress

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ron Wyden asked Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick to explain a reported Tether loan to a family trust that holds more than half the equity in Cantor Fitzgerald. Bloomberg reported that the borrowing happened in October as Lutnick sold his multibillion-dollar Cantor stake to trusts benefiting his children. The senators said the arrangement could raise conflict-of-interest concerns and asked whether the loan financed his divestiture or involved contact with Tether after he took office.
