U.S. Senate Passes Immediate Ban on Senators Trading Prediction Markets
The U.S. Senate unanimously passed S. Res. 708, banning senators from trading prediction markets effective immediately. Bernie Moreno introduced the measure to curb speculative trading based on non-public information. Kalshi and Polymarket are strengthening internal controls to prevent insider trading. New York and Illinois have adopted similar restrictions for public officials.
