As of May 2026, Bitcoin is at $78,500, testing the $80,000 resistance. Technical indicators are giving mixed signals: OBV and the weekly MACD are positive, but RSI is overbought and the funding rate is negative. In the short term, if the $78,444 support holds, the $80,000 – $84,000 range is targeted. If there’s no breakout, the $74,000 and $65,000 supports come into focus.
On the macro side, the Fed’s decision and geopolitical developments will determine the direction. Long-term fundamentals remain strong: limited supply, increasing institutional adoption, and expanding money supply.
The key level for investors is $80,000. Sustained trading above it could trigger a new bull wave, while staying below it may deepen the correction. Therefore, positions should be managed gradually and with stops.
