Codex’s quietly launched “floating pets” directly supercharge your asynchronous workflows—grab 2 hours a day with nothing but the good stuff!

Don’t treat it like a desk toy. This is OpenAI’s “efficiency cheat” buried inside the system. The core logic is just one thing: use visualized status monitoring to squeeze the last drop out of your scattered time.
1⃣ Install the skill pack: open the Codex sidebar “Plugins/Skills,” search for hatch-pet, and install with one click. Don’t go hunting around on GitHub—this built-in store is the fastest.
2⃣ Make the pet in one sentence: in the chat box, enter Start hatch-pet + description (e.g., “a cyber panda wearing sunglasses”). The AI directly calls the underlying Image 2 to output a complete Sprite Sheet animation set, status frames, and configuration files.
3⃣ Float and pin it down: after it’s generated, it automatically becomes a floating component. Drag it to any corner of the screen, enable “Pin on Top” mode, and let it sit above all your apps—no window can block it.
4⃣ No need to tab back for monitoring: after you give it long code or rendering tasks, minimize the main window. The pet will automatically switch actions based on the background status (thinking/running/completed/error), and you’ll know the progress at a glance.
Time is cash flow. Save that trash time you’d waste “watching progress” and use it to grow traffic and deliver work—that’s the real thing ordinary people should be doing.
