# Chinese Men's Table Tennis Team 1-3 South Korea

The national men's team lost 1:3 to South Korea. Although wins and losses are common in military strategy, since the rise of fan culture, the national team has clearly been on a decline. After veteran players retire, the new generation hasn't kept up, and no one has stepped up.
The current problem with Chinese table tennis is that even if you bring back Fan Zhendong, it's just a temporary fix and not a fundamental solution!
Honestly, Fan Zhendong is still at the peak of his career now, but by the next Olympics, he'll be 35 years old, and his competitive condition will inevitably decline significantly.
So, bringing Fan Zhendong back now, along with Wang Chuqin, for the Chinese team, in this Olympic cycle, both singles and team events are indeed double insurance.
But the real hidden danger for Chinese table tennis is this: if in the next two or three years no new generation of talented young players emerges explosively, the talent gap in the following years will only become more severe.
And speaking of Lin Shidong, the Chinese team has given him enough opportunities. Where do core resources come from out of thin air? They are all earned through his own hard work and strength. With his current performance—habitually underperforming in key matches and unable to handle pressure—he doesn't deserve more resource tilt.
