Mars Finance News: Coinbase announces the official launch of self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs) support in Australia, providing Australian trustees with compliant and secure digital asset investment solutions to diversify retirement portfolios. The service is based on Coinbase’s recent acquisition of an Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) and local expertise. According to the Australian Taxation Office, there are currently over 653k SMSFs managing 1.05 trillion AUD in assets, with more than 1.2 million members. SMSFs, which allow individuals to directly manage digital assets, are among the few retirement structures worldwide that offer this level of flexibility. Coinbase’s SMSF solution offers streamlined proof-of-ownership processes, audit reports compliant with local accounting standards, and institutional-grade security measures, helping Australian investors incorporate cryptocurrencies into their long-term retirement strategies.
