Recently, I’ve been debating how to choose between L2 and the mainnet, basically whether gas savings matter or whether the user experience is smooth. My approach is pretty simple: for small, frequent transactions, I use L2—it's worry-free and cost-effective; for long-term holdings, permission changes, or complex contract interactions, I prefer to go back to the mainnet, even if it costs more gas, just to buy a lower chance of issues. When it comes to experience, cross-chain/bridges are the most annoying—waiting for confirmations, fearing to choose the wrong network, and always having to double-check addresses.
Hardware wallets have been out of stock lately, and there are especially many phishing links… I now treat any “claim/transfer/airdrop” as fake first, even if it’s slower. Also, I tend to be the type who “reads the process twice,” rather than “rushes in for gas savings.” That’s all for now.
