I just noticed something quite interesting in the SEA GameFi market. Beam (formerly Merit Circle) is not trying to compete by building its own games. Instead, it positioned itself as the infrastructure that the giants need, and honestly, the strategy is working.
They already have over 100 projects integrated with their SDK. That’s no coincidence; it’s the result of building something that developers truly want to use. The migration to Avalanche Subnet gave them a significant boost in transactional efficiency, around a 40% improvement according to on-chain data.
What catches my attention is Merit Circle DAO’s portfolio. We’re talking about estimates exceeding $100 million USD in GameFi. That gives them real power in the ecosystem, not just in infrastructure but also as a strategic player.
Additionally, the partnerships they’re closing in Japan and Vietnam solidify their position quite a bit. Beam isn’t alone in SEA; they’re building a serious regional presence. Meanwhile, other projects like Immutable are also targeting the same space. The question is whether Beam can maintain this momentum or if we’ll see more consolidation in 2026.
For me, the key point here is that Beam chose the right path: being the infrastructure the market needs instead of directly competing with existing games. That’s strategy.
