I used to be a bit paranoid, always saying, “I only look at the chain.” When I saw the mainnet gas suddenly spike, I would start muttering: This won’t do—how can ordinary people even live… Later I realized you can’t just stare at the data either. The user experience really can be discouraging. After you click a couple of times to confirm in your wallet, you just want to close the webpage.

Now my compromise is pretty crude: for small amounts and frequent operations, I go to L2—it’s simpler and saves gas. If I truly need to hold long-term, or if it involves large amounts and permissions (things like authorizations), then I’m still willing to go back to the mainnet and take that one cut—at least I feel mentally at ease. Anyway, I’m watching activity while baking bread. When it gets hot, I cool it down, so I don’t get too excited and burn the bread.

Recently, the testnet incentives and points setup has once again lit everyone’s emotions. The guessing about whether the mainnet will issue tokens feels like mysticism. I also get antsy and want to jump in, but later I changed my mind: I don’t just look at the chain—I also need to see whether I’m being led around by my expectations for the points… Use the chains that should be used properly first, and don’t turn yourself into a check-in machine just for a few points.
