On May 4, U.S. President Trump stated in a phone interview that Iran’s new proposal is unacceptable. Trump said, ‘This is unacceptable to me. I have studied it, I have looked at everything — this is unacceptable.’ Additionally, Trump once again urged Israeli President Herzog to pardon Prime Minister Netanyahu, who is implicated in corruption cases. Recently, Iran submitted a new proposal containing 14 points to the U.S. through intermediary Pakistan, which mainly includes ensuring no further military aggression, paying reparations, and establishing a new management mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz. On May 2, Trump indicated that he would soon evaluate Iran’s new proposal but ‘cannot imagine’ that it would be ‘acceptable.’ (CCTV)
