Chan Maobo: Expect Hong Kong's first-quarter GDP growth to be the strongest in nearly five years

Golden Finance reports that on May 4, the estimated figure for Hong Kong’s first-quarter gross domestic product will be released on Tuesday (May 5). Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po said in a blog post that, with private consumption continuing to improve and with exports and fixed investment performance remaining on a positive trend, the estimated GDP for the first quarter will further accelerate from the 4% growth (revised from last year’s fourth quarter), becoming the strongest quarterly growth in nearly 5 years.
