Lately, people keep asking me: why does on-chain data sometimes "pause" for a moment, even though the blocks have already been produced? To be honest, many times it's not the chain slow; it's the layer you're viewing that’s slow: the indexer is catching up with blocks, the Subgraph hasn't finished mapping yet, or RPC is being rate-limited/queued, making it feel like your connection suddenly drops for a few seconds. Plus, with recent news about tax increases and tightening or loosening regulations, everyone's deposit and withdrawal expectations change, and as query volume spikes, public nodes find it harder to keep up... Anyway, don’t rush to conclude that the "chain is down." Try switching to a different RPC or compare it with direct logs; usually, you can see which part is causing the lag.

If you can only keep one habit, it’s to cross-verify key data with multiple sources.
