Just caught this - Blackdove is abandoning its acquisition of Foundation, the NFT platform. They'd announced the deal back in January, but apparently after things moved forward, they realized building their own platform from scratch was actually the better call. Due diligence came after the handover, which is kind of backwards, but they found out that's what needed to happen. Foundation's back with founder Kayvon Tehranian and the team now. Pretty interesting timing given Foundation's whole vibe - it's been the go-to spot for serious digital artists since 2021, backed by some heavy hitters like a16z and 1kx. So the acquisition gets abandoned, but Foundation's still standing. Wonder what this means for both sides moving forward.
