Recently, I’ve been going through the chat logs in PFP project group chats again, and I noticed that everyone talks about “long-term branding” with their mouths, but in their hands they’re still watching the floor price and the next wave of attention… I’m the same. I always place orders in the last second, then reassure myself, “I’ve checked the on-chain whale movements.” To put it bluntly, if things like PFPs or memberships are really going to be made into a brand, they need to be treated like daily backups—something that seems superfluous most of the time, but only at critical moments do you find out whether it’s actually worth it; but once market sentiment turns, even backups get treated like garbage and cleaned up.

The argument about royalties was also pretty surreal: creators want continuous income, but the secondary market thinks it affects liquidity, and in the end it feels like both sides just want, “I should survive first.” These days, I actually care more about whether the project is still willing to speak up when the market is in a bear phase, and whether they’ve properly handled member benefits… Anyway, don’t let me end up just buying a fleeting sense of presence from a single picture.
