Today, the on-chain congestion is ridiculous again. I feel like I'm waiting in line in the mempool for an interaction: first, the wallet popup spins around, and signing doesn’t mean it’s immediately on the chain. Anyway, I’m just waiting with a bunch of others for miners/packagers to “flip the card.”

If the gas is set too low, it’s even more awkward, stuck there like a read receipt that’s not replied to. Sometimes, others cut in line (the same operation, but they bid higher and go first).
I can only stare at pending transactions, feeling anxious, wanting to speed things up but afraid of costs exploding.

My roommate saw me staring at the transaction hash in the middle of the night and said I looked like I was waiting for a food delivery to timeout and get compensated…
I also want to sleep, but once congestion hits, the failed fee still gets deducted, and the witch might not even recognize your “effort.”

By the way, the recent NFT royalty water war is also ongoing. The secondary market desperately cuts costs for liquidity, creators say their income is being slashed, and when congestion hits, everyone ends up losing on fees, and nobody’s happy.
Forget it, just follow the path to the end. Saving a little here and there is better than nothing.
