I was just wondering, how much money is there in the world? According to my research, approximately 37 trillion dollars are in circulation in US dollars, including all physical cash and funds in bank accounts. But the interesting part is that assets in investments, derivatives, and the cryptocurrency market exceed this by about 1.2 quadrillion dollars.
Even if we only consider the coins and banknotes in our wallets, the answer to how much money is in the world is around 6.6 trillion dollars. When we include bank deposits and liquid assets, the figure rises to dozens of trillions. So, monetary assets are astronomically high from every perspective.
What is our share in such a large pool of money? Honestly, it feels a bit frightening when I think about it. In this complex structure of the global economy, alternative assets like cryptocurrencies are becoming increasingly important. Digital assets like Bitcoin offer an exit route for those who want to stay outside the traditional monetary system. Perhaps, remembering the future begins with understanding the limits of today’s monetary system.
