I just read a pretty revealing analysis about how much money is in the world, and honestly, it made me think about a few things.
Look, most people have no idea about the true magnitude of this. When we talk about how much cash is in the world physically, we're talking about around 9 trillion dollars. Sounds like a lot, right? But wait until I tell you the rest.
If we add up everything in bank accounts and deposits, we reach much more interesting figures. We're talking about approximately 100 to 150 trillion dollars in real money circulating through the global financial system. That’s cash plus money in deposits, not those inflated valuations of derivatives and speculation.
But here’s the fascinating part: the distribution is brutally unequal. The United States controls almost 62 trillion of that 150 trillion total. That is, nearly half of the planet’s real money is in the hands of a single country. Then there’s China with around 16 trillion, and Japan third with 6.5 trillion. When you see these numbers, understand who really pulls the strings of the global financial system.
Many people say there isn’t enough money for Bitcoin to keep growing, but look at these numbers. There are 150 trillion dollars in real money in the world. There’s more than enough space for cryptocurrencies to capture a significant portion of that.
What’s clear to me is that if you want to understand where the market is headed, you need to pay attention to who controls most of this money. Meanwhile, I’ll keep watching how all this evolves.
