Golden Finance reported that on May 3, local time on May 3, Mojtaba Zarei, a member of Iran’s Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, disclosed new details about the Islamabad talks on social media. Zarei said the basis for the Islamabad negotiations is permission granted by Iran’s Supreme Leader. In addition to obtaining approval for the talks, the content of the negotiations must also be carried out within the framework approved by the Supreme Leader: when the U.S. side wants to discuss nuclear technology issues, they are told that the Supreme Leader has prohibited the delegation from discussing technical details on this matter. Going forward, decisions in this regard will be made entirely by the Supreme Leader. In addition, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization is prohibited from joining the negotiation team.
