Reporters learned from the Shanghai Yangshan border inspection that at 19:00 on May 2, the “Maersk Stockholm” vessel registered in China’s Hong Kong, which carries the name “Malassk Stockholm,” slowly berthed at the Guangdong Terminal of the Yangshan Deep-Water Port. During its stay in port, the vessel will complete the unloading of more than 3,400 standard container cargoes, including 882 standard boxes of cargo from South Africa and 36 standard boxes of cargo from Mauritius.

At its adjacent berth, the German-flagged “Arabella Lina Ha” vessel simultaneously carried out intense unloading operations, with more than 260 natural boxes of cargo from Egypt loaded aboard. These inbound containers cover various African specialty goods such as stone, mineral products, metals, and chemical products, and they have successfully landed on China’s market.

As a core hub of our country’s international shipping, since May 1, the Shanghai Yangshan Deep-Water Port and the Waigaoqiao Port have consecutively welcomed multiple international vessels that call at ports in African countries. Cargo ships loaded with African specialty goods have docked frequently, becoming the first tangible results after the implementation of the new policy of zero tariffs. (Pengpai News)
