I've seen many people enter crypto without truly understanding what holding is, and that's a problem. I'll explain it simply: it's buying cryptocurrencies and holding them long-term, hoping they increase in price so you can sell and make a profit. It sounds basic, but it's probably the most solid strategy that exists.

The logical question is why long-term holding works. Digital currencies tend to increase over time, and Bitcoin is the perfect example. Every halving, which occurs every four years, causes significant upward movements. If you understand how to hold properly, you know you should think in cycles of at least that length because there is a direct correlation between Bitcoin and altcoins.

Now, once you have experience and real market knowledge, you can combine this with more aggressive strategies. But the main goal remains to buy low and sell high. What many don't understand is that if the price drops, it's not a loss unless you sell. That’s the key point.

There are different ways to apply this. The simplest is buy-and-hold: investing a large amount and waiting. But there are smarter options. One is Dollar Cost Averaging, which means buying similar amounts periodically regardless of the price. This averages your entry point and reduces risk. The other is buy the dip: waiting for 10-15% drops and buying during those moments, betting on a recovery.

The averaged buying strategy has a disadvantage: if the market rises a lot, you would have earned more if you had invested everything at once. And if you have significant capital, it will take longer to accumulate your full position.

But here’s the reality: what holding essentially is, is accumulating. It doesn't matter if you use one strategy or another; what matters is accumulating cryptocurrencies and storing them. You can combine both methods until you reach the amount you want. Humans always want more, so the best approach is to start with the basics, learn well, and mature your knowledge to become a profitable trader. That’s what allows you to truly succeed in this market.
