On May 3, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei stated that U.S. President Trump “shamelessly bragged” about the U.S. acting like “pirates,” which is a direct admission of the criminal nature of their actions. Baghaei wrote on social media: “The U.S. President openly describes the illegal seizure of Iranian vessels as ‘pirate behavior’ and shamelessly boasts that ‘we act like pirates.’ This is not a slip of the tongue, but a direct and unequivocal acknowledgment that their actions against international maritime navigation are criminal in nature.” (Xinhua)
