If you've ever looked into mobile mining, you'll quickly come across various mining apps. I’ve checked out a few of them and can say: there are definitely differences.
On the one hand, there are apps like CryptoTab, where you just install and get started. The app mines in the background, you can invite friends, and you earn a little bit. Pretty relaxed, actually. Then there are cloud mining options on well-known exchange platforms, where you buy hashrate and rewards go directly to your wallet. That’s less resource-intensive for the phone.
StormGain is often praised for its user-friendly interface, but restarting every 4 hours? Honestly, that’s annoying for me. NiceHash, on the other hand, offers a profit calculator and is considered secure if you enable 2FA. Bitdeer is more for experienced users who want to mine multiple coins and need access to professional setups.
When choosing a mining app, you should stay realistic. The effort is significant—about 8 hours a day on average—and the competition is huge. For some, it’s just not worth it. Others see it as a practical way to earn some extra money on the side. It depends on how you view the opportunities.
Regarding the easiest coins to mine: Monero (XMR, currently around $386), Dogecoin (DOGE, currently $0.11), and Ravencoin (RVN at $0.01) are considered beginner-friendly. But here, too, electricity costs in your region and the current market value play a role.
An important point: mining Bitcoin itself on a phone is practically impossible. The average mining time for one Bitcoin is 10 minutes with professional hardware—on a smartphone, it takes forever. That’s why many turn to cloud solutions.
Mining on the iPhone is also complicated due to Apple’s strict policies. If you want to do anything there, you have to rely on cloud apps, link a wallet, and choose a plan. That’s more of an investment than real mining.
My conclusion: before choosing a mining app, you should do thorough research. Don’t act hastily, check the terms of use, and see if there are updates. The landscape changes quickly. And honestly: for most people, mining on a smartphone is more of an experiment than a real business model.
