Senators Finalize Stablecoin Yield Deal, Easing Clarity Act Stalemate

U.S. senators finalized compromise text on stablecoin yield provisions, addressing a dispute that had stalled the Clarity Act in the Senate for months. Section 404 would bar crypto companies from offering interest or returns that are economically or functionally equivalent to bank deposits, while allowing incentives tied to genuine platform use. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong urged the Senate Banking Committee to consider the bill quickly.
