Just saw something that caught my attention. Rafał Zaorski is back doing what he does best - making bold market calls and actually backing them with real positions. This time it wasn't crypto though. The guy went full short on precious metals when everyone and their mom was still buying gold and silver at peak euphoria.
So here's what went down. Gold was sitting around 5500 and silver near 117 when Zaorski decided to load up on shorts. Most traders would've been terrified to go against such a strong trend, but that's not how Zaorski operates. He started building positions, and yeah, early on it was messy - some wins, some losses. But then the charts did something wild.
Within hours, gold dropped 15% and silver nearly 35%. That's not normal for precious metals. That's altcoin volatility. Zaorski didn't catch the absolute bottom, but he closed somewhere in the middle of the move and took the win. The best part was his commentary - he basically said everyone who bought at the top deserved to get liquidated. Classic Zaorski energy.
But here's where it gets interesting for us. After closing those positions, Zaorski made a comment that immediately made me think about the bigger picture. He said he's returning to crypto in about a week and expects 'a fat quarter.' He's not being shy about it either.
When I dug deeper into his posts, he explained what he's actually waiting for. Zaorski believes the crypto market is due for a revival, and he's banking on a Fed president change to someone more crypto-friendly and willing to ease monetary policy. Now, he doesn't spell it out exactly, but based on how he thinks, I can read between the lines. He's probably expecting the typical pattern - initial euphoria from the policy shift, followed by aggressive downside moves. And if that's the case, Zaorski will be positioned accordingly.
The thing about Zaorski is that when he goes public with his market takes, something's usually brewing. Whether he nails it or gets humbled, the next few weeks should be entertaining. Either way, crypto Twitter is about to get a lot more interesting.
