I recently found the top 10 richest countries in Asia by GDP per capita, and I was quite surprised. Singapore being number 1 is not surprising, but they are all oil-rich or highly developed countries. The list includes: Singapore, Qatar, Israel, UAE, Brunei, Kuwait, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.

Looking at which country is the wealthiest in Asia, Singapore remains number 1 with the highest GDP per capita in the region. Following are oil-producing countries like Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, or Saudi Arabia—probably due to abundant natural resources. Which country is the richest in Asia besides Singapore depends on the calculation method, but the Arab Emirates always rank in the top.

Japan and South Korea also make it into the top 10, which shows that the wealthiest countries in Asia are not only based on oil and gas but also on developed industries. Is there anyone from these countries? Share your thoughts on this list.
