When I first started exploring crypto mining, I spent a long time looking for an app that wouldn't require a big investment in hardware. Now, in 2025-2026, there are several interesting options that actually work and don't require buying expensive graphics cards or ASIC miners.

The most popular mining program is NiceHash. Everything is convenient there: you can rent out your computing power, lease it, or just mine. Payments are made directly in Bitcoin, and it happens quite quickly. The only downside is that the fees are higher than if you mined on your own, but the convenience is worth it.

StormGain appealed to me because it's a completely free app right on your phone. You activate mining, and Bitcoin starts flowing into your wallet. The speed isn't the highest, but for a beginner, it's a great way to understand how mining software works without risking losing money.

If you're willing to invest a little money and want passive income, cloud mining through BeMine, Bitdeer, or ECOS is a whole different level. There, you buy a contract for computing power, and the platform manages the equipment itself. BeMine and Bitdeer are known for their transparency; they have real farms around the world. ECOS is interesting because it's not just mining but also a full platform for managing your crypto portfolio.

The difference is simple: free apps like NiceHash and StormGain are for those who want to try without investments, but the profits are low. Cloud services require money but offer more stable income if crypto prices don't drop significantly.

Personally, I now use a combination: NiceHash for my old laptop and a small contract on Bitdeer for passive income. The main thing is to choose what suits you best. If you're a beginner, start with a free mining program and see if you like the process at all. Then you'll decide whether it's worth investing in cloud mining or not.
