Turkey announces that F1 will return to Istanbul in 2027

On April 24th local time, Turkey announced that the Formula One World Championship (F1) will return to the Istanbul Park Circuit starting in 2027, with plans to host the event for at least five consecutive years. On that day, a related press event was held in Istanbul. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, and FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem attended the event, jointly announcing the return of the race. The F1 Turkish Grand Prix was previously held from 2005 to 2011 and briefly returned in 2020 and 2021. The Istanbul Park Circuit is 5.34 kilometers long and is known for its complex corner design.
