Just read that Konstantin Ignatov finally walked free last month after serving his time for the OneCoin mess. U.S. District Judge Edgardo Ramos released him on March 5 since he'd already done his 34 months. Wild that he basically got credit for time served after pleading guilty to helping his sister Ruja run that $4 billion fraud scheme.

So Konstantin Ignatov started as her assistant back in 2014-2016 when OneCoin was booming, then took over as the de facto leader after Ruja disappeared in 2017. During trial he admitted to lying on the stand about ditching his laptop in Vegas, which is... not a great look. He testified against Mark Scott, the former lawyer who got 10 years for laundering $400 million from the scheme.

The whole OneCoin crew is getting hit hard. Karl Sebastian Greenwood, the co-founder who made $300 million off it, got 20 years in September. Irina Dilkinska, their legal compliance person, pleaded guilty in November and could get up to 10 years. Meanwhile Ruja Ignatova is still missing since 2017 and on the FBI's most wanted list. Some people think a drug lord might've taken her out in 2018, but nobody really knows.

Konstantin Ignatov's case is basically wrapped - two years supervised release, forfeiting $118,000, and done. The whole saga is pretty insane when you think about how massive that fraud got.
