Someone asked me if, during extreme funding rates, it's time to take the other side and eat that piece of meat. To be honest, I now more often choose to "land first"... When the rates are extreme, emotions are already twisted to the limit. You might think you're picking up a bargain, but it's more like standing at the wind's edge and arm-wrestling. Winning is luck, losing is just inertia taking you away.

I usually reduce my position to a level that doesn't affect my sleep. If I do take the other side, I only use a very small portion, entering and exiting in batches. I prefer to earn less than to endure a hard fight. Recently, AI agents and automated trading have become popular again. With more on-chain interactions, who is just hyping stories isn't certain, but the safety risks are definitely high... Anyway, when extreme rates and bots are crowded together, I prefer to avoid the volatility and wait for the wind to be favorable before taking off again.
