A seven-category comparison found GPT Image 2 stronger on photorealism, typography, signature calligraphy, image editing, and dense text rendering, while Nano Banana 2 led on anime illustration, aerial spatial composition, and structured information design. OpenAI launched GPT Image 2 in late April and said the model reaches about 99% character-level text accuracy across Latin, CJK, Hindi, and Bengali scripts.
