Today I was staring at the mempool until my eyes went dry… During congestion, your transaction is basically “waiting in line for a turn.” It gets broadcasted out, and all nodes can see it, but miners/validators will choose which ones to include first: if the tip (gas) isn’t enough, it might stay stuck forever, and if it’s stuck too long, it could get dropped, or you might get impatient and resend it with a higher fee (replacing the same nonce). Otherwise, you can only wait for it to expire or cancel it yourself. The most frustrating part is seeing the status as “broadcasted,” but in reality, everyone can see it, yet no one is willing to process it — it’s psychologically tormenting.
Recently, modular and DA layer narrative developers are having a blast, while ordinary users are totally confused… But no matter how the narrative changes, the real on-chain experience is: during a traffic jam, all the illusions of “click once and it’s done” shatter into pieces. I see this as a trap — from now on, whenever I see “low fees, instant confirmation,” I’ll think for an extra second, defaulting to assuming the worst-case scenario.
