I just did something stupid: a single swap failed, and I still got charged gas fees... While munching on potato chips and reviewing, I feel the problem isn't with the "direction," but with my impatience. I set my slippage a bit tight, originally thinking to save some, but the pool depth wasn't enough, and the price was like drinking bubble tea through a thin straw—stuck after one sip; I even confirmed during the few seconds of volatility, which is like rushing to get in and out at the door.
Later I realized: the order placement rhythm is more important than I thought. It's better to split it into two parts than to jam it all in one go. Recently, with cross-chain bridges being hacked and oracle errors happening, everyone is shouting "wait for confirmation," which is quite similar to this—sometimes on-chain, it's not about how fast you click to win. From now on, I’ll check the depth/path first, then decide to loosen the slippage or just wait for a few blocks to confirm... that’s it for now.
