I recently realized that the sense of security I get from "on-chain data" is actually quite fragile... The transfers, transactions, and settlements you see are sometimes not slow on the chain itself, but because the RPC nodes you're using are queuing or rate-limiting, or the indexers haven't fed the new blocks to the frontend yet. To put it simply, the same event has already happened on someone else's screen, but I'm still stuck on the previous page. No wonder I always think 30 seconds earlier would have missed the surge, or I saw the stop-loss point too late.

Now everyone compares RWA and US bond yields with on-chain yield products. I also get tempted to check the data, but the more I look, the more I feel: don’t rush to trust "real-time," you first need to confirm whose "real-time" you're actually looking at.

It's not exaggerated to say I’m willing to take an extra step for security: at critical moments, don’t default to public RPC, set up a paid/self-hosted one yourself, and also open another block explorer for comparison. It’s a bit of trouble, but at least don’t get fooled by a "delayed on-chain" that messes with your mindset... Anyway, I’ve been educated multiple times already.
