Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Do not politicize or overly securitize economic and trade issues

On April 24th, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun hosted a routine press conference. In response to a journalist’s question about remarks made by Finland’s Foreign Minister, Guo Jiakun stated that the essence of China-EU economic and trade relations is mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. Both sides should strengthen dialogue and consultation based on mutual respect, deepen economic and trade cooperation, which aligns with the common interests of China and the EU, and is also the general expectation of both enterprises and the public. We hope Finland will view China’s normal development of relations with other countries rationally and objectively, maintain an open mindset, and avoid politicizing or securitizing economic and trade issues.
