#Gate广场五月交易分享 Regulatory certainty is the true “bull run” signal
With this round of Bitcoin’s rally, many people’s first reaction is “favorable legislation stimulus.” But if you stretch the logical chain, the more accurate way to put it is: regulatory certainty itself is the biggest positive catalyst.
In the past few years, the biggest pain point for the U.S. crypto industry wasn’t that the technology wasn’t up to par, nor that there wasn’t enough money—it was “uncertainty”: Will the SEC suddenly file a lawsuit? Are stablecoins truly legal or not? Are there legal risks in getting tokens listed on exchanges? These lingering, unresolved questions kept far too much institutional capital outside the door.
Now, with the “CLARITY Act” moving forward one step at a time, that set of gray areas of uncertainty shrinks by another ring. When the rules are no longer vague and compliance paths become more predictable, capital that had been standing by with coins in hand—institutions like BlackRock and MicroStrategy—has an additional reason to enter.
Of course, things aren’t quite that smooth.
First, resistance from banking interest groups hasn’t disappeared. Senator Cynthia Lummis’s line, “Opportunity knocks only once,” aptly shows how fragile this window is.
Second, even if the bill really passes, there’s still a real-world implementation and execution run-in period from passage to rollout to the regulatory agencies’ formulation of detailed implementation rules.
Third, the SEC’s new policy framework is still at the administrative level for now; to truly take shape, it still needs formal legislative endorsement. But in any case, the end of this standoff between Coinb and banks marks an important turning point—U.S. crypto is shifting from “a wild child being watched by regulators” to a “proper force with rules to follow.”
Whether Bitcoin can hold firm at $80,000 may still depend on sentiment and liquidity in the short term. But once you see the bigger direction of this industry’s rule reshaping, it’s likely clear why this positive development is different from any previous round of hype.
