Maximum supply coins in the crypto market are always an interesting topic. Why? Because limited supply is one of the most important factors that directly influence price dynamics.

When looking at some DeFi projects, I see truly interesting data. For example, Yearn Finance (YFI) has only 36,666 tokens. Total supply and maximum supply are exactly the same. Such limited supplies cause the price to rise significantly when demand is high. The fact that YFI is a protocol offering yield aggregation services also makes this limitation more meaningful.

Maker (MKR) is in a similar situation. According to current data, the total supply is around 91,389 MKR, and the maximum supply is 1,005,577 MKR. MKR, used as the governance token of MakerDAO, is one of the projects with the lowest supply in the DeFi ecosystem. Holders have a say in the protocol's management decisions.

PieDAO (DOUGH) is another interesting example. With 71,828 DOUGH in circulation, it is distributed among participants within the DAO structure. This platform, which creates crypto portfolios, follows a very limited supply strategy.

BarnBridge (BOND) uses a completely fixed supply model. 10 million BOND was set as both total and maximum supply, and this does not change. Focused on risk management, this protocol uses tokens for governance.

On the Balancer (BAL) side, the latest data shows a total supply of 72,254,074 BAL. The maximum supply is at 96,150,704. This protocol, which functions as an automated market maker (AMM), centers BAL in community governance.

WaultSwap (WEX) is a decentralized exchange operating on BSC. The platform distributes rewards to users with a limited supply strategy.

UMA serves as a platform for creating decentralized finance contracts. The UMA token, which plays a critical role in governance, also has a fixed maximum supply.

Protocols like Ren and SushiSwap have adopted the limited supply model as well. Ren enables cross-chain transfer of cryptocurrencies, while SushiSwap rewards users with its decentralized exchange functionality.

In conclusion, these types of coins with the lowest maximum supply are generally DeFi and governance-focused projects. Limited supply is a significant catalyst for price increases when demand rises. Therefore, monitoring these projects is quite valuable for understanding market dynamics. Following the movements of such projects on Gate can also be beneficial for portfolio diversification.
