AIMCo buys $219M in MicroStrategy shares in first Bitcoin-linked investment
AIMCo bought 1.38 million MicroStrategy shares for $219 million, marking its first investment in a Bitcoin-related asset. The Alberta Investment Management Corporation is a Canadian government-owned sovereign wealth fund with $142 billion in assets. Wu Blockchain said the purchase gives AIMCo indirect exposure to the cryptocurrency market.
